– THE SHOOT –

So how does the shoot go down?

I will send you my prep guide before the shoot to give you a plethora of tips and advice on how to prepare for an unforgettable experience. On the day of the shoot you’ll arrive typically at 8 am, and get styled and pampered by one of my amazing hair and makeup artists. This usually takes around 90 minutes, after which we’ll check out your outfits and put together the looks we’ll shoot. I always advise to bring a lot of outfits and a ton of shoes! The shoot itself lasts up to 120 minutes, with an extra 30 minutes of overtime if you’ve opted for a prepaid plan. After the shoot you get to take a break to go explore downtown New Haven and enjoy one of our many amazing restaurants like Pacifico, Zinc or BAR while I edit your photographs and prepare your same-day Reveal Session. I’ll show you the best images, already retouched, and put together your album right in front of your eyes! After your session your images are sent to my amazing craftsmen in Europe who handbind your album in luxurious Italian leather (Vegan leather options are available), and my incredible printers who will ship your prints directly to your doorstep.

Do I have to be nude at the shoot?

If you want to. My portrait sessions are about celebrating femininity, reclaiming sexuality, and falling in love with yourself all over again. The vast majority of my clients choose to go nude during the shoot, even if they didn’t set out to. That doesn’t mean you have to. A Boudoir shoot is a very personal experience, and everyone’s comfort level is different. You can rest assured that I will never pressure you into posing nude.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

Nope. Boudoir is 95% posing, and with our guidance you’ll look amazingly sensual and sexy even wearing a t-shirt and cut-off shorts. Wear what you feel comfortable in, be it lingerie, an old band tee that’s lovingly faded, something elegant, something casual, whatever you like. We’ll do the rest!

Are you going to put my photos on the Internet?

Only with your permission! I fully respect your privacy, and this will be our little secret! If you work in certain career fields you can rest assured that your photos will never be anywhere near an Internet connection. Clients who do agree to have their images featured on my blog or social media pages will be required to sign a release form. My model release is part of the paperwork when you order your products, but you are not required to sign it.

Do you have a styling team?

Yes! I work with several amazing hairstylists and makeup artists! In fact, hair and makeup is always complimentary, but you’re always welcome to tip your stylist.

Can I bring a friend?

Sure! If you have that best friend who always has your back and cheers you on no matter what you do, bring her along! And ask about our specials for booking with friends so she can join in!

Are you going to touch me?

Only with your explicit permission, and never in a sexual manner. Any physical contact is limited to fixing wardrobe, like fixing a twisted bra strap, hiding tags, or helping attach garters (there is a skill there), or brushing hair away from the face if I don’t want you to lose your pose. I will always ask permission and let you know what I am about to do, and your consent is always required.

Where does the shoot take place?

I usually shoot in hotel rooms or rented accommodations, that way I can travel to you, no matter where you are. Legendary actress Charlotte Rampling once said “Hotel rooms speak; they have feelings” and I believe that to be true. There is an energy in hotel rooms that seeps into the shoot, and I love tapping into that energy.

Are you going to retouch me?

Very minimally. Retouching is like salt, a little brings out the flavor, but too much leaves a nasty taste in your mouth. Rest assured, you will look like yourself in your photos, the majority of what I do is just even out your skin tone and remove some blemishes, where needed. I won’t remove a huge back tattoo, and I’ll work with you to figure out what you’d like to hide, and what you’d like to show, and we’ll take care of that through posing. That little tattoo with your ex’s name on it you got when you were in college, though? Consider it gone!

What if I want something more erotic?

You wouldn’t be the first. We can discuss your expectations beforehand. Click here or fill out the form at the bottom of this page, and let’s chat.

I have an OnlyFans page – do you work with content creators?

I absolutely do. Click here or fill out the form at the bottom of this page, and let’s chat.

Do you do Sessions featuring firearms or Smoke (420) Sessions?

I do not. Smoking sessions are out of the question due to the locations I rent where smoking of any kind (tobacco or weed) is prohibited. In some venues vapes may be used.

Guns are a different issue. As a military veteran I am no stranger to firearms, and I do not want to be around them for good reason. Personal convictions aside, even the most responsible gun owners pose a liability insurance nightmare for photographers. Other photographers may be open to dealing with this, I would encourage you to contact those photographers.

– GENERAL QUESTIONS –

Do you shoot couples?

I sure do, send us a message, and let’s discuss!

Are you LGBT-friendly?

Of course! I have worked with women both cis and trans, and enjoy working with women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and orientations.

Do you work with transgender clients?

My trans clients are particularly dear to my heart. I love working with them, and I adore the feeling we share when we see their photos celebrating their true selves. If you are transgender and are interested in a gender-affirming and empowering Boudoir shoot, feel free to contact me.

Will you travel to me?

I love to travel, and I’m looking forward to traveling as soon as post-pandemic life has returned to a sense of normalcy. As of November 2021 I am fully vaccinated and boostered, and ready to go!

Will you travel internationally?

My UK passport is valid, and I am fully vaccinated and boosted. International travel does require payment for hotel and transportation (rental car, plane ticket, etc)

What influences your Boudoir photography?

I draw influences from some of the greatest photographers of women, regardless of gender. Helmet Newton’s “World Without Men” high fashion aesthetic is a long time influence, but it was the playful and highly erotically charged energy of Ellen von Unwerth that gave me the desire to shoot women. Her work always featured these drop-dead gorgeous women, sometimes in elegant lingerie, sometimes in couture, often nude. Fashion models of course, but what stood out for me was that her images were dripping in joy! There was laughter, and a certain lightheartedness, even in a high contrast black and white fashion photograph. And that’s a quality I always aim for in my work, I want that joy, and I want to instill that joyful, playful energy into your Boudoir experience!

Why should I choose a male Boudoir photographer?

Men view the female body differently than other women do. We find different things erotic than other women, and often times we see beauty and sensuality in very different ways. For example you may find your husband or boyfriend thinks you’re at your most attractive when you’ve just woken up early in the morning, hair all messy, inside-out t-shirt and no makeup on. Neither way is bad, just very different approaches. You will find that over the decades most of the famous names in nude and sensual photography have been men like Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, Gunther Blum, Richard Kern, and many others. That doesn’t discount the amazing imagery created by Ellen von Unwerth, Suze and Holly Randall, and Bettina Rheims. Ideally I’d recommend that anyone interested in a Boudoir shoot book a shoot with a female as well as a male photographer!
